Do not adjust your audio device

Paul and I are working on getting the next batch of songs ready for release. There are some new ideas and we probably could have ready for Christmas.

Part of the reason we want to get the next Uffmoor record out by then is that we’ll also be working hard on the Distant Signal release, which will definitely be something special… and another project.

Another finger in another musical pie. Three great guitarists from the Halesowen area have signed up and we’ll be heading into the recording room around Christmas and the new year. More details to follow soon. Can’t wait.

Stay tuned.

…and on Amazon

You can pick up the latest EP on Amazon MP3, if you’re not iTunes inclined.

In other news I tried out one of the Fender Lonestar Strats in a music shop the other day. They’ve got the classic 70s headstock apparently (I wouldn’t have known that had the shop bloke not pointed it out, still not sure what the significance is) and a humbucker. Not sure if I’d need a humbucker on a strat, although it would be handy in certain situations. Smooth sound, cheaper than a standard and American made. Anyway, I put it back on the rack, thus ending my Wayne’s World moment.

Love in the Time of Cannibals available on iTunes

As you can see, we have revamped our web presence and will be posting band related news whenever there’s anything to report. The first thing to mention is that Love in the Time of Cannibals is now available on iTunes, as a digital download. A physical re-release will hopefully follow shortly. I was thinking about doing a vinyl so you get more artwork and, y’know, putting a record on is a bit more of an event than downloading or streaming. It’s all about the ritual: lighting the candles, blowing the dust off… basically no need to be web-browsing at the same time. Having said that, you’re buggered if you want to listen to it in the car.

There’s a good chance we’ll be digging out an older EP soon and re-mastering some of the early tracks, even In the Basement! and a couple of other old Sunday Syndrome tracks, for the sake of completism/nostalgia.

When that’s all done we’ll be keen to work on something new… at the moment I’m leaning towards recording an instrumental EP, possibly under another pseudonym. It’d be a bit like Explosions in the Sky but with more digital cloud bursts. There’s also one or two ‘proper’ songs knocking around that for some reason refuse to be forgotten.
